I have been drawing and making cartoon figures since the fall of 2007 as a hobby and pastime. As a substitute teacher, the students would ask, "Draw me a frog." Occasionally, I would bring home some of my creations and my wife would say, "Not just anybody can draw like that." To which I replied, "Really?"
Finally convinced, I decided to put a little more time and effort into teaching myself to draw. This is an ongoing process as I'm sure you can tell. After struggling for a while, I decided to write and illustrate a childrens book, "Otter Learns to Skateboard" which I published on www.lulu.com.
Otter hadn't achieved any great success, so decided to see if I had the creative ability to mix drawing with situations I think up in my head. I have done this for awhile and subjected family and friends to suffer the results. I published a comic book through www.lulu.com called "Odd Lot Comics". Odd Lot Comics is available on Amazon.com. Search on "Saugier". Some of the comics you see in this blog may be from that book. If there are too many rotten tomatoes and "boo-hisses" then I'll know to shut down the blog and move on.
ooo, unforeseen side effects of the digital age!
